FIRST AID COMPETITION 2008! :)
helped to take many many photos! most of them are from my handphone camera, some taken from sherlyn's blog and some were bluetoothed over into my phone. i didn't get the chance to take more photos of NC5, and i'm waiting for jingyi to upload her photos onto her blog since she brought her camera and her photos are probably much clearer :)
anyway, we met up with everyone at bukit batok control station early in the morning at 0615! took the train to commonwealth and reached clementi town secondary school.
helped to gel their hair after they changed to their full uniform. latifah's hair was the hardest to get done! i had to use loads of gel, as she had curly hair. haha. anyway, the four different teams trained for a while at the basketball court before reporting for the competition.

after the uniform inspection, they were ushered into classrooms which were their holding rooms, to wait for their turn. samuel, yunqian, shiya and i then left for breakfast. ate at long john silvers together and bought back some food for the others.
they went back to CTSS while i went for tuition. came back at around 3pm. saw qian huai leaving already. then met up with the rest of the sec 4s.

waited for the prize presentation to start! was really nervous for them! especially since i didn't get to see how well they did in the different areas of the competition. nursing adult and nursing cadet teams were judged based on a first aid case, home nursing and footdrill. the ambulance teams were judged based on long case, short case, footdrill and transportation of casualty.
bb corps received the area 8 trophy for being the champion for footdrill competition for three years in a row! from 2005 to 2007! haha. it was our motivation to win last year.
AREA 9! before the brigade was restructured and 'area' was changed to 'zone'. (as learnt in the knowledge of order of st. john)
the results were finally announced! oh my gosh. can you believe it?

we were pleasantly surprised by NC5, the junior nursing cadet team! their aim was to not get the last place, and they have exceeded their own expectations! even though they footdrill is not so good, but they must have done really well in other areas, especially home nursing, as they were the only team who told the judge about universal precaution and wore the cute face masks and hair nets provided!
the ambulance team did well too! bb corps had not sent an ambulance team for the competition in a very, very long time, and they have done their best! they have also exceeded their own expectations. to think that their commander was fretting over the fact that there were 6 teams before the competition, and even felt intimidated! they kept saying that they did not know much about TOC, and only aimed for the 4th postition. hahaha.
the nursing adult team did extremely well! leepeng seemed so stressed and even cried a little before the competition! their hard work has paid off and they totally snagged every prize in their category! i'm glad that they did all of us proud, and maintained bb corps second win in this category.
least but not least, NC1! qiuyan was panicking that they were the first team, and i saw that she kept reminding her team about all kinds of things before the competition, asking the trainers about what to do during the uniform inspection and stuff like that. she has led her team well and did a good job! hui fen was a good CPR man, or should i say girl. she seems to be the one who binds the whole team together, and i can see the teamwork they have displayed during trainings. sherlyn and latifah may be sec twos, but they are very cooperative and have a lot of potential! with sherlyn's diligence and latifah having a lot of initiative, i can safely say that the entire team truly deserved to win :)
its time to celebrate and rejoice! we gave atiqah her super early birthday present- her much awaited adidas bag! then we gathered around and sang happy birthday to her in advance. well, not really sang, more like shouted. haha. in case you're wondering, her birthday is actually on the 6th of june. hahaha.

the guys were reluctant to take photos. and they were also the most emotionless team. haha.
oh, and did i mention that i was the most emotionless trainer? well, in the sense that all the other trainers had tears of joy in their eyes upon hearing the results of their teams, while i did not cry. i just provided tissue. (i brought two packets!)
but of course, it was hard not to feel like crying with so many people around you, with eyes all red from crying. i'm just good at controlling my emotions.
all in all, good job to every single one who participated in FAC!
i've trained all the teams before, and i'm really proud of you guys :) having training three times a week may have taken up a lot of time, but without those training sessions, we wouldn't get the results that we have now. the sec 4s can now step down and leave bb corps in the hands of the sec 3s :) we have faith in you guys!
gathered around and wished junyan happy birthday as his birthday was the day after the competition. haha. before we did that i already wished him happy birthday in advance, and he said that i was a kaypo after knowing that i found out from the cpbs record book. haha.
headed towards jurong point after that! was with samuel, yunqian and shiya. we went to pizzahut but there was no space, so samuel left his contact no. and we went up to toys 'r' us and pretended that we had a deprived childhood. lol!

went to pizzahut after receiving the call from the waitress, and ate 3 slices of pizza for dinner. yum. was quite hungry, due to the fact that i forgot to have lunch.
took 172 home. was too tired, and slept on the bus.
20th April, Sunday:
tuition, tuition, tuition. stayed in woodlands regional library after tuition and continued to study. the following pictures were taken by paul, who accompanied me to study. hahaha.

21st April, Monday:
last week, jack had came to chat with me about nan hua primary. haha. how random. this time, nureen and i looked through the pictures and in handphone and saw a few pictures of him, bryant and leongyew. he said that they went cycling two days ago, and they taught bryant how to cycle. he said that ly looked cute in sunglasses, so i called michelle over to look at the photos. lol.
CME lesson was fun! we had to make this so called "fan" using a piece of paper and pass it around the class, writing comments about one another on it.

LEONG YEW'S GIRLFRIEND! (written by LEYU, obviously) hahaha. so both michelle and shiya said that it was my fault to keep calling her that and to spread the whole "ly's girlfriend!" thing. but all of us agree that it was ms lau who started it! :)

ate lunch at the canteen with melina and dennis before going home. then went to vivocity to meet up with zhengjie, kuankeong, nigou and yunqian. we shopped for paul's birthday present together. ate dinner at carl's junior. yunqian and i shared fries and the strawberry hand scooped shake.
okay, so i initially did not want to share paul's birthday present with them, but since kk asked and nureen was chipping in as well, ah, what the heck. which explains why i was at westmall with melina before going home, as we were looking around for something suitable but couldn't find any. then yunqian called me and asked me to go with her and the rest to vivo. so, i appeared at vivo to see what they were going to buy :) but i was the only one not in school uniform, and the one with the lightest bag. haha.
after deciding what to buy and everything, we headed to the MRT station. i brought back all the stuff that was bought (a card, shirt, a pair of slippers, and a box) back home. my mother ransacked the plastic bags, and said that the shirt suits him. lol.
reached home feeling a little confused, due to some particular reason. maybe i was being too sensitive?
i stay firm on my stand. kk does not rock! :P
22nd April, Tuesday
woke up early and was supposed to meet kuankeong at 6.20am, but apparently, i left my house at that time. oops. just couldn't wake up! we had wanted to reach school earlier than paul in order to prepare the birthday present for him.
anyway, it was so suay that when i was walking to the MRT station early in the morning, it just had to rain in choa chu kang. had to protect his present from getting wet! plus, when i went up to the platform of the MRT station, the rain was coming in, so i got all wet. and when the train arrived, the rain poured in from the top of the MRT, leaving us passengers soaked while standing there waiting for the train to stop.
went to school with kk. went to the canteen and beatrice helped us to fold the box. haha. placed the items neatly inside, brought everything up to class and asked zj what to write inside the card. he told me all the names of those who chipped in for the present. we gave him the present during recess time :) before that, it was under my table, and some asked if it was my birthday. lol!

i just want to thank you for being such a great friend. you don't flare up, even when i'm being unreasonable. you've done so much for me by being there for me, offering a listening ear to hear me rant on and on about certain problems or difficulties which i face, even when it does not concern you. thanks for also helping me in additional math, for being so patient to explain the concepts to me even when i'm feeling quite like a retard as i just don't get it.
i wish that you would stop saying negative things about yourself. you're very well liked among your peers, so don't put yourself down like that all the time! being emo every single day is bad for health! its is also not worth dwelling over stuff. so cheer up and don't think too much! concentrate on your studies and jiayou for SA1! :)

oh yah. after math remedial today, shiya and i went to westmall's kfc to have lunch. i saw ee chong there! my p6 classmate! he was in the white dunearn secondary school uniform and he had not changed a single bit! as in, his appearance lah. i dont think he even recognises or remembers me, due to the fact that i was such a quiet guai kia in primary school.
speaking of which, paul saw marcus on the bus yesterday. AGAIN! haha.

shouldn't have went for remedial today. i kept nodding off, almost falling asleep while mdm yeo was talking! lol. came back home and took a half an hour nap. now i can't sleep!
