Let's all drop out of school!

What kind of teachers wait for students to "filter themselves out"?

PJC teachers.

When there were 29 students in our class, we became the largest class in the cohort. And now that 2 more students are joining us, the teachers think that the class is too big and are waiting for us to fall out. Drop out. Retain. Transfer to a poly. Whatever.

WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THIS?

Okay, so it's hypothetical. It's a prediction that some of us won't be able to make it to J2. But how can teachers say such things? It's insulting AND demoralizing. I feel like they are looking down on us, and I was totally pissed to hear what Ms Chua said today.

It made me feel like, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE IN SUCH A STUPID SCHOOL. I should've put NP's mass communication course as my first choice instead of my second. Or maybe I should've tried for CJC.

I thought that PJC was a good school. But I guess I've been proven wrong.

Thank goodness for my friends in PJ. I love the company I have in school, so I'm going to stick it out and try to make my way to the 'A' levels. It's not the school that matters; as long as I don't screw up too much, I should do okay, right?

I hope so.

Another mass update!

I'm updating as I'm threatened to do so. Lol.

3/6/09: Watched the performance 'Seven Boards of Tricks' at VCH.

4/6/09: After that previous post I went to hand up my EOM with Yingwei and Miuyen. Then we went to orchard! Yay. Went shopping and while eating cupcakes, we saw Mr. Chu at Crystal Jade Bakery. Hahaha. Talked and laughed like hell :D

5/6/09: Had an econs lecture in the morning. Went home after lunch and had to go to Buona Vista to tutor those P3 kids. Took the bus down with Debby to CJC and met up with the rest.

We watched the play 'Blithe Spirit', which was put up by the CJC drama society. Debby, Michelle, Jack and I had watched it two years back with our lit class at the esplanade so we already knew what was going to happen. But the play was still funny and really enjoyable. They did a great job :D

8/6/09: There was a lit lecture conducted by Mdm Lai. Oh, and I was nice to Justin for the whole day by not calling him a gay. He was so surprised.

But I couldn't resist calling him a gay via SMS. Hahahaha.

9/6/09: Went shopping at Jurong Point with Shiya and Amalina for Atiqah's (belated) birthday present! We intended to spend $30 but we didn't really know what to buy for her, so we ended up walking all over JP and exploring interesting looking stores.

Oh, and because of the Great Singapore Sale (GSS), things were discounted and we had to rack our brains and think of more items to buy! At the end of the day, we walked around wondering what to do with the remaining $7+ and it was funny pointing out random things to buy.

10/6/09: Met up with Vera at orchard! She came after some Interact Day thingy at AJC. Anyway, we had lunch together at Burger King. Vera forgot to bring the free movie tickets so we didn't end up watching a a movie, but it's okay! :D

Went shopping! Vera bought a vest and a hoodie. She made me try on lots of clothes too! So much for window shopping. Hahaha.

11/6/09: Singapore is really a boring place you know, it seems like there is nowhere to go! Nureen and I initially wanted to go to someplace that we've not been to before, but we couldn't think of any, so we met and shopped at orchard!

I bought this dress which I tried on the day before. YAY, I managed to snag the last piece! :D

Oh, and I was STONING as Nureen's boyfriend, together with his group of friends, walked by. Hahaha wth right. I can't believe that I was seriously stoning and I didn't see them. Hahahahah.

12/6/09: CIP tuition was tiring! It was just Shun Yu and I today.

13/6/09: Met Shiya and we took 985 down to Beauty World. Bryant came onto the same bus as he was on his way for dragon boating.

We stoned at the bus stop for some time before going to McDonald's for ice cream even though it was a rainy day. Ama came and soon, she received a call that Atiqah was on her way. Oh, and Yunqian was still sleeping! Tsk. Anyway, Ama went to meet Ati first. Shiya and I dropped by later and we pretended it was all a coincidence, but it was so obvious that Atiqah was suspicious of us as she kept smiling to herself. Lol!

Had lunch together and we went to McDonald's (again). Found Yunqian sitting outside waiting for us, and we gave Atiqah her birthday present and card. Hahah. Yay!

After a while, I left and went to Michelle's house.

Bryant, Jack and Leongyew came later and we all went down to play pool. Jack tried to teach Michelle and I how to play, but he failed! Hahaha. We went back to Michelle's house and her playstation 2 was being weird so Jack and LY were trying to do something about it while Bryant used the computer and I was just transferring notes from one notebook to another.

Debby joined us at Westmall and we ate dinner at Sakae Sushi! Didn't really know what to order so we asked the guys to order for us and we'll just eat. Yay. But the service sucked and the waitress sucked so booooo. Oh yeah, and the guys ordered this thingy - some kind of boiling pot of soup you could cook beef in. Bryant was like saying that after putting the beef into the soup, you take it out and mix it with the raw egg, but Jack was like, nuuu, you mix the beef with the egg and put it into the soup. But like whatever, it tasted the same.

Debby left after dinner and the five of us got last minute tickets to watch 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past'! The movie had already started when we walked into the threatre but it's okay. The plot was predictable but the movie was nice and meaningful. Yay. It was funny too; Jack was laughing really loudly.

15/6/09: CIP briefing at Metropolitan YMCA!

22/6/09-24/6/09: CIP! :D

Day 1: Went to Bukit Pajang with Shiya to fetch three kids (Phylicia, Thaun Hng, Kyler) from the childcare centre and brought them to metropolitan YMCA! The bus drove us there and we met a lot of other kids; there were 17 of them in total. Along the way, Kyler was saying that she thinks that it is going to be an adventure.

We had activities and games and a cooking session! Spaghetti with sausage, celery, carrots and mushroom. Fruit salad for dessert. Oh, and we went into the pool to play with them. Atiqah went in first, then she dragged me down. Ama and Shiya joined us too! Samuel had a water gun.

Abeila and Laurelle liked to come and talk to me. Laurelle even has a handphone. She gave me her number and made me promise to SMS her at night. Reuben was wearing this 'Mr. Strong' shirt and he kept pointing to mine, calling me 'Little Miss Brainy'. Hahahah. They're all so cute!

Ate dinner with Shiya at Lot 1 after sending the Bukit Panjang kids back to the childcare centre. The good thing is that we get to ride the bus back to Bukit Pajang with them and then taking the LRT. It's faster than taking 190 all the way back to CCK.

When we were walking to the childcare centre, Kyler was telling me that it was reeally like an adventure and she had fun. I told her that it would be another adventure tomorrow and she jumped in excitement.

Day 2: Off to the zoo! Reuben asked me to sit with him, and that hyper active kid was surprisingly quiet during the bus ride. We split into three groups and had this amazing race. It was pretty hard to keep them focused on what they had to do. Reuben and Samuel quarreled along the way, and later Reuben made Gladiz cry - she was afraid for the insects in the fragile forest.

Gliviz is super cute! Shannon can be quite talkative; he was telling me all about the 'Rainforest Strikes Back' performance at the amphitheatre when we were on our way to watch it as he had already seen it with his family. He also talked to me about Wii and Mario Kart.

The kids were allowed to play at the pool area there but after a while it rained, so we had to gather them and bring them to the toilet. The rain got heavier and we had to talk shelter before walking over to the bus quickly. Reuben had saved me a seat with his Ben 10 cap and the bus drove us all straight to YMCA.

Back in the music room, the kids were told to lie down and sleep but none of them did. They were all restless. Some of them wanted to play the games on my handphone and it nearly ran out of battery.

Day 3: Awwww, it was the last day! :(

We had a game about remembering the lyrics to the YMCA song (Tabael could answer everything correctly!) and the pass the message game. We were also given a cupcake to decorate with pocky, biscuits and chocolate sprinkles. (I brought mine home and told my dad it was his Fathers' Day gift, so he had to eat it)

We were also given bread, seaweed, tuna and raisins to create something which looks like a zebra. Lol. Then we ate our zebras. We prepared spaghetti and fruit salad again, but this time it was for their parents who were coming later that evening. The all boys group was in charge of spaghetti and the group with more girls was in charge of the sauce and ingredients of the spaghetti.

Our group was in charge of fruit salad. It was scary to watch children handle knives. They peeled and chopped the oranges and bananas. Atiqah and I later cut the apples. It was all done after Caleb and Gladiz dumped the apples into the bowl and Gliviz mixed it all up.

In the evening, some of their parents came and the children presented their group work. They brought containers to take the food home and before we left we took group photos. Some of them came up to hug us. Aww! I totally love this CIP. It was so fun! Tiring of course, but fun and somehow rewarding :)

Pictures are up on facebook!

I have got to stop blogging in this manner.

Oh, and MYEs ARE OVER! YAY!

Will update about celebrating Elena's birthday and drinking wine at Istana park some other time!
