quick post. not allowed to even be here.
i've been offline for the past 4 days. don't worry, i'm not a geek, (even though i pronounce "lol" as "lawl" in real life, but that doesn't count) so i'm not miserable about being banned. i just suddenly have to do three quizzes here from michelle, debby and marcus. though i'll have to wait till the weekend to do so.
CIP at the childcare centre last friday was great. some of the kids from the K1 class i helped out the previous time actually recognised me, and called me jiejie! :D
intensive tuition started on sunday, 3 hours long.
st john day was yesterday, and it was ok. i mean, it wasn't as exciting as before, probably because this is the fourth st john day in school. last year's was better.
anyway. my dad drove atiqah, shiya and i to school early. pulled the school flag for morning assembly. went back up to class and the people at the back were like, welcoming me, i think. and mark was saying something like, shi ting! st. john ambulance! do you learn how to drive an ambulance? lol. i wish.
went to MOF with shiya after school. yum, ice cream. pictures some other time.
currently awaiting for the letter from brunei. we had to write a letter to ourselves during OBBD, solo night, and it's supposed to arrive this june i think. they did say 6 months.
PE tomorrow. taking height and weight. i know lots of people dread it. hahaha. The Hollow Men will have to wait as i catch up on doing A-math TYS questions.
i can't believe how short this post is. ha.
Melina: well, i just updated! :D
Marcus: haha, okay! will do it when i have the time! :)

from now on, school shall end at 1600 hours
only took out my phone just now as i went out to buy dinner. peijun and i were smsing about homework, when she texted: do check our the new time table... T.T. TORTURE.
for the first time, i was more outdated than peijun! congrats, china beauty!
current MSN personal message: OMG WHEN I SAW THE NEW TIMETABLE I ALMOST WANTED TO CRY. (okay okay, maybe i'm being overly dramatic)
first reactions to this!
this time table really scares me.
well, look on the bright side! even without this new timetable, there will still be remedials. (ignoring the fact that remedials don't last for an hour and a half and actually have a chance of being cancelled) the time table just makes it more systematic so that teachers won't have to "fight" over us. it also makes lessons after 2pm official.
things can't get any worse!
WRONG.
my mother just proclaimed that when school reopens, i will be banned from the computer. all the way until the 'O' levels.
OH NOS. DO WHAT NOW.
Michelle: yeap! welcome back, LYGF! :D

lit fest 08!
lit fest at BBSS!
arrived with chrystabel, met jiaying, and went to AVT together. nureen came soon after, and we sat together. different coloured files were given out, as well as the schedule and this cheapo ballpoint pen.
other schools that were there: swiss cottage, dunearn, yusof ishak.
when they said that we'll be sorted into groups, everyone started swapping files. haha. it was obviously the only way to place us in groups. i had a purple one while nureen's was yellow, so she exchanged hers with farah. mr latiff told us to calm down/ not get so excited and to stop swapping files.
honestly, the people of the purple group were really quiet so jiaying, nureen and i kept bugging vanessa to get the ball rolling. it took us so long to break the ice for the first activity, which caused us to reach the AVT later than all the other groups.
hahaha. i took these photos using vanessa's camera phone! these three guys in our group are from swiss cottage, trying to show what Off Centre is.

the picture below is the drawing done by the ah lian girls from dunearn! they kept saying that they haven't read the book, which is surprising because even though they are still sec threes, i remember clearly that at this time last year, we've covered most of the play with mrs tan and had watched the full play of Off Centre at the esplanade on leongyew's birthday.
but at least they participated and the drawing is quite cute!
the picture below is what vanessa referred to as she presented our group's drawing!

there was the construct questions thingy again, which was what we already did as a class activity during the june extra lessons. finally, the last segment- role plays! students from YI acted out the NUS scene first, followed by 4E2's army scene and halfway house scene. then it was the azman scene and vinod's outburst after being fired by mr chow scene by swiss cottage. the guy in the first photo (the one in the middle) acted as both vinod and azman, and he was really good. all the role plays were hilarious.
at bukit batok MRT station, i was standing alone near the escalator, leaning against the glass panels and staring at the floor, with this huge gust of wind blowing at my face making my fringe fly. suddenly, i heard some people approaching and there was this uh-oh-i-think-something-bad-is-going-to-happen feeling.
true enough, those people were three guys who came to stand beside me, and the one closest to me said, "hi." in a soft voice which spooked me out a little, since i was staring at the floor. so i looked at him to see if he was actually talking to me before saying "hello" back. then he asked me which school i was from. this is a very common question which lots of people like to ask if not they will be kept in wonder, and go like, oh hey, what school is that with the uniform which looks like kent ridge secondary's but isn't really because their blouse doesn't have to be tucked in and their collars are not grey.
so i said bukit batok and he asked me where it is, which was ironic because we were standing at the platform of bukit batok MRT station, in bukit batok, and besides, how can the school be bukit batok secondary school if it isn't in bukit batok? this guy is obviously a genius. and i wouldn't go around telling random strangers that my school is currently at toh tuck because it is a holding school and the school at bukit batok is being rebuilt, yadda yadda, since it is none of their business, so i just went like, "uh.. bukit batok?"
so he asked me where was i going and i said home? and then (thank goodness!) the train came. so he was like, oh the train's here. yeah well, i don't need some complete weirdo to state the obvious for me, thank you very much. that was my cue to get away, so i walked to the yellow line and one of his idiotic friends was like "byebye!!" like as if he's suddenly my friend and i'm supposed to wave enthusiastically like friends do. so when i didn't do that, he was like, "so unfriendly."
i rolled my eyes. as if i want to be friendly to creepy strangers.
this is currently my fifth encounter with strange strangers. the first was when i was with nureen at lot 1's arcade (won't elaborate more). the second was when i was going to watch blithe spirit and this guy i walked past was like, "not bad eh?". the third was when i was with yunqian outside westmall and this random ITE guy asked for my number. the fourth one was when i was sitting in the bus, and some guys started hitting the back of my chair (refer to one of the entries in january)
hello? it's not as if i have label on my back saying something like, 'come and harrass me!' jeez.
good news!
heard from debby that michelle is coming back today! hahah, i so missed disturbing her! :D

bbss in ndp 08
OMG. i just saw BBSS students on tv! in the news! on channel 8's 狮城六点半!
well everyone knows that the sec ones and twos are taking part in the ndp performance this year, but it's still so cool to see them rehearsing on the platform at marina bay, with the umbrellas and in their maroon PE t-shirts.
two sec ones students were interviewed and so was 謝老师.

history, bananas, and archery.
on a sunday morning when i'm trying to do math homework, mum was like, everybody! let's go to sheng siong!
of course, jie and i protested. we were overruled by the combined power of our parents, so we reluctantly went. sat at the back of the van with my sister and we talked about cute ocelots (did you know that salvador dali kept one as a pet?), kungfu panda and prince lesbian.
dad drove down a very familiar road and i was like, are we going to school? but it turns out that we went to this hawker centre near my school for lunch. you know, the one when you walk all the way down to the bus stop at the foot of the bukit timah community centre, past 7-11 and just straight ahead, ta-dah! THAT hawker centre.
at ten mile junction's sheng siong, dad got a trolley and jie brought me around the aisles, choosing biscuits. she grabbed boxes of them while asking me questions about history. i kept giving her one word answers like hitler, stalin, gorbachev, karl marx, mussolini, fascism, aggressive foreign policy, nazism, versailles treaty, czechoslovakia, berlin wall, glasnost, perestroika, ..well you get the idea. obviously i didn't answer her questions, so she was like, "your history sucks." and i was like, "hey! i got an A1 okay!"
she dumped everything into the trolley where dad was standing next to. he had his ear piece and so jie went in front of him and was like, "dad, you try to look cool but fail." he did this funny expression and started laughing. then mum came over with fruit juice and said, "wait here." so dad asked, "okay, so what's your mission?"
jie and i said in unison, "wait here." lol.
then dad was like, suddenly taking a walk down memory lane. "you remember last time at cold storage when we went grocery shopping you used to say 'daddy! what's my mission?' and i would say 'okay. your mission is to find bananas'. "
jie was like, "yeah i dont know why, but it's always bananas, like we're a bunch of monkeys." i vaguely remember, so i ask "which cold storage?" and jie says "the one at king albert park." so i assume that it was before we moved to CCK.
anyway, dad went off and did get some bananas and grapes before we drove home. in the van, dad and mum talked about work. okay, confession time: my family is a bit racist. just a bit, when mum was complaining about the neighbour who lives next door, and dad was commenting about this guy at work who said "notatall" with an indian accent and so he did not understand. jie cracked a joke about pancakes and all of us laughed. for once, mum and dad did not argue!
i'm cooped up at home today! like a hermit. so here i am eating spicy nuggets and onion rings from mcdonald's. it's part of the kungfu panda special; i can see that from the nugget box, as there's a picture of that panda with a tiger. i bet my handphone bill will be freaking low this month. mum wont have a chance to nag about it. for all you know, i might become a library nerd when you see me next term. ha!
made some changes to the html codes before changing my blogskin to this one.
archery sounds fun! hongyong told me about it the other day, since that's his CCA. i want to try archery! air rifle is the closest thing that i know of. tried it during the air rifle course at CDANS when i was a sec one student.
watched 唯我独尊 last night with mum, and she was supporting that girl called germaine so i supported her too, since the rest aren't really worth supporting. mum likes germaine 'cause she's sweet. ren liangyi is so disgusting, i just can't stand her. i thought that shiqian was going to win for sure, since she has so many supporters but mum's prediction was right and germaine was the female champion.
i can't believe zhenhuan even got into the final two. his only talent is to catwalk and to stare at the camera intensely. so it was obvious that yuan shuai was going to be the male champion and also the overall champion. but i still like louis better, since he's cute and funny. plus he plays the saxophone and has the same birthday as me! (i guess i was so bored that i went to the 唯我独尊 website.)
since i don't really like the show in the first place, i kept switching channels in between commericials to watch snipets of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on channel five.
lit fest tomorrow!

Audrey, Wait!
Just like any other Saturday, I went to Woodlands regional library for tuition.
However, unlike usual Saturdays when I rush out of the project room after tuition because the air con is too cold, I proceeded to the young people’s section from which I borrowed a book, ‘Audrey, Wait!’- A novel by Robin Benway. And it is so freaking nice! I read it on my way home and until the very last page.
I must say that book is highly addictive, as well as hysterical. It made me laugh aloud at all the funny bits.
While my sister is reading 'Audrey, Wait!' and refusing to study for the theory test by reading books about the highway code, I'm here blogging, refusing to do my holiday assignments. Can't wait to learn how to drive when I'm of age.
I'm going to re-read the novel and ignore the fact that we only have one more week till school reopens.
Had a horrible, horrible dream last night. My subconscious mind shouldn't even be thinking that! Argh. And I've never dreamt of _ before. What does this even mean?
Purple_Funatick: Yeap! And my blog seems dead!

physics remedial
Ate at lot 1's pastamania with ruishan and melina after physics remedial on Tuesday. It was my brunch. Tried out the pizza there, plus the soup of the day.
Had remedial on Thursday as well. Ate with melina before going home. Then met up with Shiya, Amalina and Atiqah to go to Woodlands regional library. Atiqah kept linking back to her recent Vietnam trip. At the library, Shiya went straight to the 华文小说 section while we searched for English fictional books.
Only borrowed three books. Atiqah recommended the book, 'Daughter of Venice', to me. Both Atiqah and Amalina told me that I should read 'Red Tears' as well, and they said that it was an "emo" book which made them cry.
The book reminds me of the previous so called "emo" book which i read, 'Red Rage', so i told them about it and amalina ended up borrowing that book, too. Seems like being "emo" always has something to do with red, hur.
So I ended up lying on the sofa, crying to myself while reading the book. Finished it in time to watch the korean show, 'Hearts of Nineteen', on channel U.
Had a funny dream. Or vision, rather, since I only held that image in my subconscious mind for a short while. Anyway, I dreamt that there was this band. Nilesh was the drummer, Bertrand was the lead guitarist I think, so Leon was probably playing the bass guitar.
But the funniest part was that Jack was the guy behind the keyboard, smiling to himself while playing some chords, and Bryant was the lead singer.
Ahahaah, can you imagine? It was a soundless dream though, so it wasn't that bad. But I still woke up laughing.
Oh, and I changed my blogskin back to this grey one. Used the same codes but just did away with the picture.
Found this interesting quiz from melina's blog.

Information
Unhappiness in relationships, according to Dr. Gary Chapman, is often due to the fact that we speak different love languages. Sometimes we don't understand our partner's requirements, or even our own. We all have a "love tank" that needs to be filled in order for us to express love to others, but there are different means by which our tank can be filled, and there are different ways that we can express love to others.Take the quiz

6B gathering!
this was how junyan quite unecessarily scrutinized my blog before flying off to Japan on monday night, 02/06:

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO RUI SHAN! (5th June)
& HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ATIQAH! (6th June)
&& HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARCUS! (9th June)
last wednesday, 7 out of the 13 guys in class were not allowed to go into the classroom since they returned late from recess. so they (prakash, mark, thariq, bryant, irvin, alan, kenneth) started booing outside. hahaha. it was unusually quiet inside, without bryant and prakash behind jiaxun and i. the constant bickering from leyu, samuel and leongyew could be still heard.
ate with the usual people! melina, chrystabel, vanessa, jiaying, michelle, debby. all agreed to share ruishan's present:)
lots of crap as usual. wonder who is this "W" guy of jiaying's. sabo-ed michelle to put back all the purple plates for us as she was the last to finish her meal. after eating, we walked down to the next bus stop but 77 suddenly appeared, so all of us started running back!
we spent quite some time to decide what to buy. and i was really thirsty from all that talking! melina came to my house after that.
during the last few minutes of chemistry on thursday, the guys were like, today ruishan's birthday ah? then we must sing her a birthday song! but mrs ooi was like, five minutes left only, let me complete my lesson then celebrate! but they were like, noooo, cannot! we must celebrate with you, 'cher!
so everyone started singing and clapping and the guys were all, oh! LEYU never sing! LEYU BOOOOOOO! then after that mrs ooi was like, oh, leyu's birthday also ah? so everyone sang happy birthday to him as well, when his birthday was like in april? hahaha.
i just love how the guys boo at everything in class, because it's so so funny.
but they should just stop talking about porn.
anyway, we gave ruishan the present along with a card, which was made in the morning. oh, and i've been reaching school earlier than the last week because i've been taking the 7.20am bus instead of the later one.
it started raining during math. even though we were dismissed, most of us were still in class because of the heavy rain, trying to complete math homework. uma shared her bright orange umbrella with me as we walked to the bus stop.
waited at the bus interchange to pass the forms (regarding the make up basic home nursing lesson which i collected from miss lim after school on tuesday) over to ma'am faridah before going home to put down my school stuff. went out again after a change of clothes and headed for vivocity for the 6B class gathering.
carolyn called to ask if i could make it in time for the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. so they bought a ticket for me too. texted marcus on the way there. met up with him, hongyong, daryl, ee chong, ted, roy, wen hao, shee yee, junko, lilin, chan teng and bervyn. they said that joey and carolyn were at forever 21, but later she called to say that they were already outside the threatre. 15 of us took up the entire row in the cinema.
the movie was really nice! i think it left a greater impact than the first; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. oh, and a wallet was found, so we returned it at the information counter. up at the sky park, the guys started pushing each other into the wading pool. later, we had dinner at secret recipe. the bill came up to over $200! after that we went back to the sky park. sat in a circle and played two games before going our separate ways.
went home by train and marcus sent me back to CCK. it was nice of him to do so since it wasn't really convenient for him. went to sleep at around 1am :)
i was told about atiqah's birthday surprise. felt a tinge of regret for not being there. but i guess i felt compelled to go for the gathering since i have not seen those people in three and a half years! and i did have fun- in a weird way.
couldn't really concentrate in school on friday. luckily i still had my hershey chocolate kisses with me to keep me awake. oh, and because i woke up later, i missed the earlier bus. and the 7.32am bus broke down at the bus interchange. they took some time trying to rectify the problem, which caused josephine, wylin, debby, cecilia and i to be late for mdm yeo's lesson. she didn't believe us though.
michelle wasn't in school, as she had flown off to Indonesia. and everyone was like, oh no wonder leongyew looks so sad! or whatever. hahaha. and bryant was harping over the fact that michelle doesn't know who yoda (from star wars) is! jack and ly had switched places, and at the back of the classroom, bryant was telling leongyew, i can't believe michelle doesn't know who yoda is! you better do something about your girlfriend. or something along that line.
tuition as usual on saturday. on sunday, dad drove us around in his new silver van. he dropped jie off at her friend's house before the three of us had lunch at some hawker centre. went for this 2 hour workshop with mum at rendezvous hotel. then we went to wisma atria and takashimaya for a bit of shopping. ate dinner at ding tai fung before taking 190 home.
that kinda sums up the week.
tired.
oh yes, rejoice- the holidays are finally here!

4 more days!
the previous post was typed in a rush. forgot to reply my tags.
having second thoughts about the gathering now, due to certain issues. and would it be worth it to choose that over going out with the rest of st john sec fours for ice-cream?
school was a bore. chemistry practical was still okay. and im currently unable to do my A-math homework (so what's new?)
ate lunch with vanessa, melina, chrystabel, michelle, jiaying, shunyu! crapped a hell lot on the way home.
Tag Replies!
PeiJun: haha, pan-asians are hot!
Purple_Funatick: lol!
Michelle: are you sure? that's such a generalisation. haha. but don't worry, your boyfriend has the potential to be romantic too! :)
YUNQIAN!`: haha of course i won't hate you! and you don't really use broken english, just words which are wrongly spelt together with some shortcuts :D
PeiJun: hey china beauty from beijing! :)
Michelle: haha. i meant the other piece of paper which i wrote (in chinese) that you and ly would be together forever, not the LYGF and MDBF one! :D
YUNQIAN!`: no lor, if you could come we would've met earlier because of your tendency to arrive late, and may have gotten better seats. hahaha :P

band concert
debby's iPod was returned on friday after the physics remedial! mr cha did not reveal anything about how it was found or who returned it, but the main thing was that she got her iPod back and that called for a celebration! so debby, michelle, melina and i went to the newly renovated mcdonalds to have lunch together. we started talking about TV shows. i told them about the first episode of this korean show, "The Legend", since it had an interesting beginning. i have no idea why michelle said that i'm a good story teller.
we also discussed about romantic things that romantic guys would do for girls. i don't know how michelle came up with so many romantic situations which she saw on TV or on music videos. haha. it's nice to fantasize. and i said that the theme for the this year's prom should have something to do with royalty, so that we can wear tiaras! haha. actually it's just wishful thinking on my part, since i saw this really nice tiara on display the other day.
went for tuition on saturday and at the end of the lesson, we received our integration tests from last week. just my luck! i had a score of 58%, while the passing mark was 60. so i had to sit for a retest and meet up with nureen later.
bugis junction was so so crowded, especially with the GSS going on. had dinner at swensen's and my sister suddenly popped out of nowhere. okay, well not really, she was there with a friend but her friend left and she didn't want to go home yet. so she took nureen and i to haji lane to window shop. and my jie thinks that NUREEN IS PRETTY! :D
then we somehow found our way to NAFA for the BBSS concert band's performance, Moments. met others there already at the threatre, like chrystabel, yiting, shiya, wenxin, xuemin, jack, leongyew etc. the concert soon started, and it was great. others may think it's a bore, to listen to the school's concert band play different pieces of music in one night. but it really isn't.
A day in Disneyland reminded me of the trip to disneyland USA when i was little, as well as jack's singing, because i heard him singing "it's a small world after all.." more than once before (yes, in case you haven't noticed, our ex headprefect does weird things other than smiling to himself during lessons) oh and im guessing that the piece, I only care about you was an old chinese song. i can't remember what the other songs were called since i didn't bring the pamphlet home, but they were all as good and the concert was really impressive!
anyway, there was a 20 minute interval when all the concert band members all rushed out from the backstage. got to talk to jiaying and vanessa for a while. the concert had supposedly ended, but some people in the audience kept shouting for an encore, so two more songs were played. the concert ended at 9pm plus. nureen and i couldn't join the rest for supper so we went home after that.
oh yeah, asked leongyew where's michelle?, and he just laughed. jack took the opportunity to crack a cold joke after the concert. so i told him that YI TING HAS A BOYFRIEND CALLED ETHAN!
and he was like, really? like he really believed it! hahaha. yi ting, i hope you read this! :D
photos will be up in one of my next entries! :)
sundays are usually boring days for me, but it was really a random day to start off the month of June. and it was all because of msn conversations.
for starters, i had found out quite some time ago about a group of people whom i did not expect to visit my blog actually read my blog. well, today this guy called matthew has been added to this group of people. he was actually asking if i have the song "I Stay In Love With You" by Mariah Carey and when i expressed my surprise that he went to my blog, he said that he uses this blog to "hop to other ppl blog mah^^"
anyway, i've just downloaded the song! if he has not found the song yet and asks me to send it to him, it will probably mean that he really does read my blog.
due to low ratings, im contemplating for kitchykatkafe to go on hiatus soon.
another random thing was how junyan described his 5 year old brother's soft toy cow to be cute and able to do yoga due to its flexibility, in a funny way.
then some random dude talked to me online, and it turned out to be hongyong, my p6 classmate! apparently, there's going to be a 6B gathering next thursday organised by carolyn. oh, and it was a bit freaky because hong yong has my handphone number! haha.
texted vera about the gathering immediately, and she came online after replying my message. and it was so random because we started talking about getting dresses for prom! designs and colour; she wants a dark purple dress while i want a soft purple one!
oh, then my mum brought me to have my fringe cut at some hair salon at CCK Xchange, since it seemed to be bothering my eyes. in case you wonder how it turned out, i have a picture below:

slant fringe again, but this time it's slanting to the left, not to the right (which was what some hairdresser had cut for me a long time ago, before my fringe grew equal again and i left it as that)
i look weird. whatever, just don't laugh at me tomorrow.
