third post today. haha. just changed my blogskin to welcome year 2008! :D

made this skin myself quite some time ago, and i think its quite ugly. so i had decided not to use it. but im using it now because i'm sick of the previous one already, and was lazy to look for a new blogskin. so just did some coding and here you go.

the first week of school is gonna be fun!

on the first day we're going bowling.

on the next day, we're having lunch at swensen's, suntec city.

on friday, we will be going to school in our business attire and attend some workshops. then at night, we're going to watch this Beauty World musical at the esplanade.

and i can't believe that some people (such as amalina and paul) are planning to go to school in school uniform on the only day when you get to go to school in something other than your school uniform!

racial harmony day doesn't count.

and i think i will never finish my ispls.

on top of that, i've completely forgotten about mdm yeo's homework and that chinese composition.

in addition to all the incomplete school work, there's still the upcoming test to worry about which will determine whether or not to drop additional mathematics.

other than homework, ispls and the mdm yeo's test, there are still brigade forms to be done.

besides admin work, there are still cpb things to do.

furthermore, i've not completed transferring all the record books into microsoft excel files.

im so screwed.

juniors' pop

this morning i went for..

the basic and advance nco course passing out parade! haha. it was held at jurongville sec, the same place we had our basic POP two years ago. went there with amalina and shiya as guests. met hwee chin there; she attended to collect her commissioner badge.

congratulations to latifah! even though she didnt attend the parade, she got the best cadet award. and also for making it to normal acad :D


after the parade there was a zone presentation at the hall. then the three of us went to jurong entertainment to have lunch at KFC.

the trophies bukit batok corp achieved! first runner up for youth affairs, second runner up for fund raising :\

we got the best in public duty award, thanks to amalina! :D

OBBD gathering

i reached harbourfront at exactly 10am! :D

jaslyn, yikiat, and JY were already there. after a while peiru came. then we went to find aman, christopher and matthew.

the guys kept playing with wrestling cards, even when we were about to board the monorail to sentosa -.-

jaslyn, peiru and i sat at siloso beach, chatting while burry our feet in the sand. the guys threw around this frisbee which was bought from 7-11. later some of the guys came and splashed us with water. jamine joined us later on as she had cca.

after changing, we met up at the luge ride. but it seemed like jaslyn was the only one who was enthu about going on the luge. felt hungry and we decided to go for dinner since we skipped lunch.

a while after we began eating, i saw the guys looking at me and laughing. i later learnt that they were laughing because they suddenly realised that the dark blue esprit shirt i wore looked like i was from npcc or something. which was quite funny as that was what i thought when i first wore it, too.

yikiat saluted me and called me ma'am. hahaha. i feel so honoured :D

yay, OBBD gathering at sentosa tomorrow! i mean today, since its past midnight :)

there was a gathering at brunei today (i mean yesterday), hadi told me about it. he said boss had treated them to dinner. so good! hahaha.

was catching up with marcus just now! haha. feeling super high :D


went for the st john bbq yesterday organised by the sec twos. it was held at debbie's condo which is so cool because of the steam room! heh. if only my condo's toilet had a steam room too!

dennis walked around me and sang to me a happy belated birthday song. hahaha. i guess they did miss me during training which was on my birthday when i was at OBBD! (heh. im being bu yao lian. hahaha.)

gave shuangyu, jingyi, yunqian, shiya, amalina and atiqah the tree branch like pencils with the words 'brunei darussalam' written on it, as souvenirs :D

the sec twos wore their very own personalised t-shirts! so cool. haha. had fun playing at the playground and making ouselves dizzy. left at 10pm though i told my mother that i'll be back at 12. see, so guai right?

oh, and before that shiya treated me to swensens as my birthday present. haha. we ate fish and chips and then mango madness for dessert. yum! then we met the rest at westmall before going to sheng siong to meet the sec twos :) on the way there we also met peijun and xuemin, who were going home after their cca.

made a trip to buy envelopes today. i feel like a real secretary everytime i approach the 'office stationary' section in popular. haha. then i went down to the post office as usual.

saw a cat today outside the social lounge.

OBBD

Day 1 (07 December)

i did some last minute packing the day before, and i could not sleep well as i kept worrying about certain issues. in the morning my dad drove my mother and i to changi airport before they both went for work. i waved goodbye to them and after they drove off, i suddenly felt very alone. i started to wonder if i had made the right decision. most of the others seemed to have their parents sending them off at the airport, while my parents were travelling away from me at approximately 80km/h to their respective workplaces.

when we finally boarded the plane, the flight attendant showed me that jiajun was sitting at my seat. MY WINDOW SEAT! :( beside him was matthew, and the seat beside matthew was empty. so i had no choice but to sit there. it was a really short flight, only about 2 hours. listened to my mp3, ate some food and had a short nap.

we reached the brunei airport, collected our luggages and took a short bus ride. staring out of the window, i saw a chinese temple, a mosque, and this building that looked like a dollhouse. we stopped to have lunch, but i didn't to eat as i wasn't feel hungry at all. then we were split into two groups. the group i was in had to take a boat ride which was really long and boring, and then another bus ride into temburong jungle. we reached the logistics centre which was this wooden building thingy. then we were divided into 2 more groups, brought our luggages up and met the bruneians from our group.

my group, Pateh Berbai, consisted of the following members:
Singaporeans: Denise, Peiru, Christopher, Yikiat, Jianyu, Hazmi, & myself
Bruneians: Qibah, Zahirah, Fizah, Sabrina, Intan, Zul, Faizal, Hadi, Azmee

our instructor, Hamdi, had denise to read out some rules and we had to sign it like it was some sort of contract. we had to surrender all our valuables and put them in this container that looks like a giant beyblade thingy. we also had this medical check thing at the medical centre, just to make sure we're all healthy, i guess.

yikiat and intan became our group's store man. they distributed some stuff to us, such as sleeping bags and roll mats, and we had to pack our personal items into a dry bag and then put it in the bagpack which they provided.

as the building was made of wooden planks, there were holes in between the floors and as i moved my belongings from my luggage and into my backpack, my green comb dropped into one of those holes so, tah-dah! i lost my comb on the very first day. how suay.

had a first aid lesson that night, which was like boring revision to me. but it also reminded me of teaching my juniors CPR the other day and also made me wonder about the training session i missed the previous day. but i think it was a little pointless to teach CPR without practicing on a dummy.

and when the instructor was telling us about the creatures we should look out for in the jungle, jack said that his friend told him about this insect called BOMBA and asked the instructor about it. but the instructor had never heard of it before. LOL. then our headprefect went on to ask about HORSEFLIES. ahahah.

we had to wear a life jacket and blow the whistle everytime we had to cross this bridge which was built over the river, and only 5 people could cross at one time. it was already dark when we crossed the bridge for the first time to get to our bunks, and i remembered that an instructor was walking behind me and told me that my backpack was spolit and i had to have it changed the next day.

as you can already tell, the first day was quite uneventful. jaslyn, jamine, peiru, denise and i shared this hard wooden surface which was supposed to be our bed. i slept next to the side door, which only i have access to and only unlocked it to use it when i felt lazy to walk to the main door even though it was only a few steps away. also, sleeping there was a good choice because i could just reach up and switch off any of the fans in the girls' bunk if i felt like it.


Day 2 (08 December)

woke up at 5am as we had flag raising at 6. then we had some warming up exercises before proceeding to our morning run. we also received some good news; that we were supposed to run 7km to challenge ourselves, so this was to train our stamina. oh my gosh. after that, we had breakfast but i wasn't used to eating so much at such an early time, especially after running.

FLYING FOX. it was quite scary to jump off at first, but boss (that's instructor Hamdi. we call him boss due to this story he told as which had something to do with monkeys. haha.) was really nice about it. i jumped, glided past the trees and over the river. the view was great and the feeling of the cool breeze blowing against my cheeks was so refreshing.

then we went back across the river to the logistics centre for TRUST FALL. everybody had a turn to fall and be caught by the rest who had to grab this ground sheet thingy and hold it over this boat thingy, so it was perfectly safe. and i trust my friends! :)

then we climbed up some steps to this rocky place for basic abseiling. i was just sitting there stoning, looking at this black butterfly circling us. so in the end i was the last to abseil down. it was my first time abseiling, (actually my first time was supposed to be during p6 camp, but just when it was my turn to try abseiling, the instructor said it was time for the next activity. bahh.) and it turned out to be quite easy. just walking down the rocks while being suspended by a rope. i thought it was be fun because my sister likes abseiling, but its actually quite boring. i'd rather go on the flying fox again :D

christmas 2007

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE! :D


this year, christmas has been slighty different for me.

first off, i received messages from the following people (in the order of who smsed first) sending their christmas greetings around midnight: zhengjie, matthew, paul, shiya, leongyew, yunqian, and mingshen.

i woke up in the middle of the night because the phone kept vibrating as my inbox was full, which explains why i replied them at around 3.33am.

also, i just returned from a family gathering. nothing big, but we haven't had a christmas family gathering thingy in years. which is why it was a surprise to hear that my uncle was like, out of a sudden organising a gathering.

it was a potluck dinner thing so my mother cooked her specialty; roasted chicken with potatoes. i brought it up to my uncle's house and as usual, i ate most of the potatoes she cooked, along with some other dishes.

okay, so throughout the lame gathering i just sat at the piano chair text messaging paul and shiya, while fiddling with the new ipod touch which my dad got for free.

its not really mine, by the way, and how i wish it was. it belongs to my dad but i have no idea why he loaded all my songs inside so its kind of like mine too. i also went to upload some photos. and my sister went to upload some of the songs she listens to. so i think the three of us are sharing it.

anyway, i was surfing the internet, got quite bored after i had checked my email, gone on friendster and watched some youtube videos. so i went to play a bit of neopets. hahaha.

it doesn't help when aunt irene came over to tell my sister and i to "go mingle with your cousins" and that we weren't here to have some "sister bonding" since we already "see each other everyday."

to which i replied, "not really."

besides, i can't really interact with people whom i'm not close with, much less my cousins who are all above 20 years old, have jobs and are of age to get married and have children.

my cousin's daughter and uncle's daughter are ten years younger than me, and they have each other to play with. oh, and my sister tried to escape; came up with some excuse and asked my mother if she could go out with her friend. but unfortunately, my mother wasn't buying it.

at least i wasn't stuck at home watching christmas specials on tv hur.

anyway, my relatives were so fascinated by the fact that i've grown taller than my sister. hahaha. and i heard my aunt asking my mother, "what are you feeding her?"

they have also pointed out the fact that i've become darker.

i was so glad when my mother said we were leaving. after i had eaten my third slice of fruitcake, we said goodbye and dad drove us home.


went to lot 1 yesterday to watch 'alvin and the chipmunks' with shiya, her little brother and my sister. okay, so it wasn't worth watching and i felt cheated of my $8. my sister agrees; she only liked the cuteness of the chipmunks.

i would like to thank all the 31 people from OSP and Pateh Berbai who sang a birthday song to me around midnight outisde the girls bunk when it was our last night at temburong jungle :D

special thanks to matthew for planning the surprise, jiajun who kept counting down to my birthday and asrul for his remarkable acting skills which made me believe that he really fainted.

thanks to everyone who sang me the birthday song so many times on that day and kept calling me birthday girl.

many thanks to peiru and jaslyn, who surprised me when we were shopping in brunei three days after my birthday by buying me a small oreo cake with a candle on top and singing the birthday song softly.

even though i didnt get many birthday presents or have a birthday party like i usually do on most years, spending my birthday at OBBD was more memorable than all my birthday parties put together :)

i can't believe i almost withdrew myself from this outward bound trip. my decision was seriously last minute, and i was even contemplating to back out when i heard that yunqian could not go. the thought of spending my birthday at camp irked me, but i'm glad i went and i'm thankful for this opportunity.

okay. so i was actually supposed to meet the rest to go to sentosa, but i was so tired that i slept until 2pm. haha. never mind, im tanned enough already anyway:D

went out at six plus in my new long sleeve shirt (from I.P zone which i brought to OBBD but didnt use) with jeans so as to cover up my uneven tan and the hundreds of mosquito bites on my arms and legs.

went to meet them at the food court in vivocity. the first people i saw were jingyi and wenxi. and the first thing they said to me was something along the lines of, oh my gosh, you've become so dark! haha. had dinner and went to the arcade with them, zhengjie, paul, matthew and his cousin.

nigou joined us later and wanted to buy something somewhere in the photo above. haha. i dont get why he was so paiseh.

after a bit of shopping, we went to watch the sneak preview of National Treasure: Book of Secrets. it was a nice movie but i dont think its worth going to the cinema to watch it as the story line was pretty much.. expected.

reached home and fell asleep almost instantly :D

if you haven't already noticed, my hair grew out of shape. so my mother brought me to cut my hair at lot 1.

went to lavender to make my I/C today, as i have officially turned 15 when i was in Brunei. was uber bored while waiting for my turn, and my mother kept scolding me for my constant text messaging :D

the lady at the counter was nice, but she kept telling me to relax when she took my thumbprint. well, i can't help but have naturally sweaty palms.

which reminds me of that day during OBBD when we kayaked to that island which has really nice swings and jaslyn, aman, peiru and i were crapping about lip balm and i said that i couldn't fart because got plaster. LOL.

(it sounds funny and a bit wrong as i actually meant that because of the plaster on my left hand, i couldnt use my hands to make that farting noise. in case you dont get it. hahaha)

after that my mother, my sister and i went to bugis to have lunch.

mm, delicious! some bacon potato omelette japanese food thing :)


got pretty restless while waiting for my mother and sister to be done with their shopping.

jie left to meet her friends so my mum and i went to lot 1 to buy cake for dinner. yum, mango cake! one of my favourites.

i was told that when i was little, my mother bought me a slice of cake everyday after preschool, but i didn't grow fat. hahaha. she wanted to buy some more stuff so i went home first. later, she came back showing me a new pair of shoes she had bought..

which look exactly like the ones i have now. haha. who cares, as long as they are affordable and comfy. so now i have new old school shoes! :D



right now, i'm slacking my butt off! my sister keeps bugging me to play msn solitare with her and after OBBD, i just feel like eating and sleep and not doing anything else. heh.

i have 6 more ISPLs to complete, but i feel safe as christopher just told me he has seven to do. hahaha. i dont know why, but in some way that information was oddly reassurring. unlike 3 days ago when junting talked to me on msn and told me he was only left with social studies.

oh, and just so you know, my nickname is currently 'wahlaueh!' due to the influence from the others in our group pateh berbai, when we taught the bruneians to say 'wah lau eh!' and all of us ended up saying 'wah lau eh!' a lot of times for no reason at all. hahaha. and now it has become a habit :x

i'm glad that we're keeping in touch with the bruneians through friendster and msn. suddenly i got a wave of comments on my friendster page :)

hopely those people who went for the xmas celebration at jurong stadium are having fun. hahaha.
