fairytalee

i have invented the calling of XUELINA LIM and KOW PAUL LI last night. lols.

and i love doing my own project!!

it is, sort of, like an IPW project. even though i don't know what IPW stands for. anyway, its better than our school's IPW magic of kites project, because firstly i do not give a damn about kites. secondly HOM is stupid, so telling me to do a dumb survey about HOM and reflecting about the sixteen habits of mind, whether i enjoyed the activites or find it meaningful, is also a waste of time. and thirdly, they forced us to do this project! anyone will not be happy doing a project, or even anything, which is just given to us, forced down our throats, then make us work our butts off FOR NOTHING.

so.. i have my own project for myself! it is WRITING MY OWN FAIRYTALE.

why fairytales are more interesting than kite projects:
  • fairytales are fictional. it can be made up, and nobody will that you that it is wrong or whatever. you dont have to go and find out the history of fairytales or anything stupid like that.
  • since fairytales can be made up with creatures that dont exist, it is more interesting than normal stories.
  • you wont cry when reading a fairytale, such as sad, touching books like "tuesdays with morrie" or "flour babies", etc. because fairytales always start with "once upon a time.." and will end with "..and they lived happily ever after"
  • you have to think and think about the construction of a kite and bore yourself to death. but when writing a ridiculous fairytale, you dont really have to think much. just let the imagination flow as you go.
  • there is no need to spend money on materials because you just need a computer and microsoft word or notepad to start typing. or if you are old fashioned, writing with a pen and paper is good too. (only that i dont like it because i like writing full chunks of crap which gives me a red patch on my ring finger on my right hand after writing for sometime)
  • what presentation? you write so that people can read. if you read it out and present it to people, that equals storytelling to toddlers, which babysitters and storytellers in libraries do, not writers.

yeaps. eat my dust stupid school administration which came up with detention punishments and dumb HOM activities!

fairytales are nice and they leave you wound up in a fantasy world where elves and pixies come alive, centaurs and unicorns in the woods, spellbound and captivated by its magic.

oh, and speaking of libraries, after school me xueli and nureen walked to westmall and had kfc for lunch. then we went to the library and i borrowed a nora roberts romance novel once again.

so tadah! i have my own self projects!

  • fairytale thingy
(but when i finish writing it, what should i do? what if people find it dumb?)
  • planning of my birthday party
(this is if i decide to have one because my birthday is between the advance nco course so i may not have time and maybe will wait for after the camp to celebrate, but it would be after my birthday by then, so i dont know lah! will ponder about this later.)
  • save money to go buy clothes during end of year holidays
(i desperately need new clothes. vera has the idea of we go shopping and buy new clothes without my mother, for a change. hmm, save up? my allowance is not enough for my essentials, let alone save any money. this would be a challenge. maybe i have to starve a bit)
  • secret!! shh. only three people know about it.
(may not feel like completing it anyway. i have no idea what to do about this one too)
