i know my husband [the computer] missed me from looking at the screen for the whole day.
the camp was not as tough as i expected.
basic NCO course camp
yuan ching sec
on day 1 [26 nov] there was a hike. we took a bus to the same place we hiked during the march camp. bukit timah. after walking we had our field cooking. we were supposed to learn map reading but it started raining heavily so we had to put on our ponchos which wasn't very useful anyway. we continued hiking in the rain [which results in my muddy school shoes that gives me an excuse to buy a new pair.] & map reading was cancelled. later we learnt the transportation of casualty thing and had a contest. 5 people from each platoon were casualties. 1 was blindfolded, 2 were siamese twins and had 1 foot tied to each other by a triangular bandage. the other 2 had their own feet tied up so that they could not walk. we had to bring these people to the carpark to win. as we were transporting the "casualties", we could not see anyone behind us so we thought that we were last but when we reached the carpark it was quite empty.
not last,
but first.
bravo so rocks.
2nd was echo, followed by charlie, then alpha and then delta.
later in the day we had tent pitching. we took quite long. and we had to bend our legs when we were inside cause its too small for an outstretched body. then in the middle of the night at around 3am ++ [day 2 already] there was a firedrill. twice. didn't get much sleep.
day 2 [27 nov]
i reported sick during the morning parade thing. like wanna vomit. v.pale. the feeling is kinda scary. ate a sweet and sat with the others who were not feeling well. then dozed off. was given 30 minutes to bathe only we couldn't cause there wasn't a shower in the toilet so i just rinsed my body. went for breakfast, washed + dry sleeping bags and played some games. there was a letting your platoon mates catch you game and a soapy obstacle and a putting your feet according to the number game like the one in p6 camp blablabla etc. getting wet is fun. there was platoon interaction to get ready for the campfire preformance but there wasnt enough time. bravo was the duty platoon so we and all the other boys in the course had to help with the campfire preparation while the other girls went for community singing. had a bit of a backache after shifting the heavy logs to 1 side.
*******
the campfire rocked.
i mean, it was like all other campfires; singing, cheering, games, performances.. but the part when bravo took the stage [made of canteen tables] and started singing along with the song this love by maroon 5 totally ruled. the other platoons copied us & ran up too. so we quickly moved to the front of the stage. haha.
we slept in the classroom. w/o anything to lie on. just on the hard floor and our bags as pillows. & in the middle of the night i woke up and saw that i was sleeping opposite my bag on the other side of the classroom. strange. the i walked back to my bag to sleep.
day 3 [today]
had tough PT. includes more than 100 jumping jacks. arranged the tables and chairs in the classroom back to its original position. all platoons got something for being best at something. alpha was best in games. bravo- best cheer. charlie i forgot.. =X. delta was most enthusiastic and echo was best in performance and overall best. ate lunch at jurong entertainment centre with jingyi, shuangyu, yunqian, shiya, amalina and atiqah before going home.
camp was ok. everything is fine except the part we had to eat maggi mee for almost all meals- lunch and dinner of day 1 & 2. im so sick of it. there was also too much food that was to be finished and 7 people from bravo threw up because of stuffing themselves. plus i didn't bathe and comb my hair for 2 days. yuck. made many new friends.
and now that im back, 2 people i can talk to has gone overseas.
one from 28 nov - 5 dec
one from 28 nov - 7 dec
tsk.
im not so fortunate to go on a holiday this year. this is the first time im not going overseas.
